Summer Camps |
|
All Camps and Workshops are limited to just 15 students. Many of our camps last year were FULL. So, Don’t Delay…Register Today!
Ages: Children 4-7 years old Dates: Week 1—June 16-20 Week 2—June 23-27
Ages: Children 7-11 years old Dates: July 28-August 1
Dates: Week 1—July 14-18 Week 2—July 21-25 Week 3—August 4-8
Children will be exposed to a variety of movement styles, Breakin’, Lockin’, Poppin’, and House, which make up the genre known as Hip Hop. In addition to hip hop, students will learn steppin’ and the rhythmic sounds of street tap. Students will also learn about the history and evolution of hip hop. We will focus on choreography and the skills and routines learned will culminate in an informal performance for parents at the end of the week. But more importantly, we will focus on the skills of free styling (which make hip hop what it is) and developing each student’s personal “flava”. Optional sleepover night on 7/10!
Ages: Children 7-11 years old Dates: July 7-11
Ballet Master Class with Dalia Hay, retired Pennsylvania Ballet soloist. Click for details.
ALL workshops, with the exception of the Master Class, follow the schedule listed below and have Half and Full Day Options. Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM Afternoon Session: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
The morning and afternoon sessions of all Camps/Workshops are NOT repetitive. Students are encouraged to register for a full day as it will maximize skills learned and the level of preparedness for the performance at the conclusion of camp.
Multiple Weeks Weeks 1, 2, and 3 of each workshop are separate and complete in their own right. Week 1 is NOT a prerequisite for participation in Week 2/3. Though focused on similar skills and techniques, the two weeks are not repetitive and will result in different performances. Therefore participation in both weeks is encouraged, but not required. |
